Innovation for Textile Practice required a collection of innovative samples which used simple geometric imagery for inspiration and explored a few considered techniques.
We were provided with a selection of MoDiP objects that could form the basis of our designs from observational drawings and collage. I found simple imagery yielded better repeat/placement designs than more complex shapes. I focused on simple shapes: a vacuum jug lid, plastic egg cups, and dominos. The vacuum jug lid was most successful because of its versatility to create repeat and placement designs, so I used this in my sampling and final designs.
