I think that combining traditional processes with modern materials leads to developments in strength, design, and flexibility, leading to innovation – eg woven carbon fibre creating a strong composite.  Carrie

 

This shows that the new and old can combine effectively. George

 

I think traditional skills need to be preserved and passed on to the next generation but at the same time traditional skills need to also be adapted to work with new materials. Fran
