10 Most Wanted

Project dates : May 2013 - July 2014

This was a Digital R & D Fund for the Arts project undertaken by MoDiP in partnership with the University of Brighton and Adaptive Technologies. The aim was to develop a resource to engage the public with finding out information about objects in collections thus engaging them with collections in a new way.

Inspired by the FBI's Ten Most Wanted website, it combined the web, social media and gaming to motivate people in the chase. The methodology was piloted on plastic artefacts in the MoDiP collection but is equally applicable to other types of collections, for example identifying designers and manufacturers of objects made of other materials or places and people portrayed in paintings and photographs.

A full report and exhibition that gives the flavour of the project were produced.
