Combmaker's grail, wide

Description

A combmaker's hand file or grail used for rounding the sides of teeth on a hand-cut comb. The flat file is set into a wooden handle. This type of file was in common use from the early 18th century until about 1840. This item forms part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
