Oval snuff box with coat of Arms

Description

An oval pressed horn box decorated with a fanciful coat of arms bearing a lantern with a pestle and mortar above to the right of which is a star and to the left a crescent moon. Either side of the arms is a figure. To the left is Bacchus and to the right, Ceres, with the motto 'In nocte latamur'. Signed 'Baker fecit', early 18th century. This natural plastic item forms part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
