Planetarium dome. Photo caption: The dome of South Shields Marine and Technical College planetarium consists of eight identical segments moulded from Bakelite polyester resins reinforced with glass fibre. The segments form part of a sphere 28 ft. in diameter which supports an inner dome made from aluminium. This item is part of the MoDiP BXL collection.
