Description
A Men at Work Q sign, injection moulded in recycled polypropylene (PP) with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) retro reflective sticker on the front surface. Intended as a temporary road sign, the use of plastics materials for this application has many advantages over alternatives such as metal or wood. For example, they are non-flammable, rust resistant, lightweight, easily deployed, hold no scrap value so deter theft, and are durable, capable of withstanding multiple impacts. This example is stackable, folding flat for efficient storage, with a one-piece A-frame design that is robust but can also be weighted with a sandbag at the base to provide extra stability in heavy weather. The triangular road sign is used to inform drivers of an approaching hazard and the men at work design was created by Jock Kinneir and Margaret Calvert in 1964.
