Description

A box bag, originally containing a range of Merle Norman cosmetics. It was obtainable with a coupon and the purchase of $20 worth of cosmetics. An advertisement at the time suggested that 'Its charming mock tortoise shell and crystal look makes it a versatile fashion accessory for daytime dress or elegant evenings.' On purchase, it was complete with : Intense body moisturizer, candescent face make up, taupe creamy powder eye shadow and a trio compact with Satin Sienna lipstick, Tawyny cheek color creme and a Russett moist lip gloss'. The rectangular box bag has an amber and brown base and hinges, made from injection moulded acrylic (?), and a colourless facetted lid, made from injection moulded polystyrene(?). The two handles are slightly flexible, and are probably made from injection moulded polyethylene. Measurements given exclude the handles.
