New York World's Fair cruet set

Description

A small souvenir cruet set from the 1939 New York World's Fair. The cruet set is in the shape of the Perisphere and the Trylon, known collectively as the Theme Center set on a tear drop shaped base. They were two of the main draws of the 1939 World's Fair. The world's longest escalator, at the time, was connected to the Trylon's spire, and the Perisphere's dome housed the 'Democracity,' diorama, depicting the city-of-the-future. Each of the containers is fixed to the base, and both are filled from beneath.
