Description

A sample of domestic vinyl floor covering manufactured for Polystyl by Tarkett c. 2005. This cushioned vinyl flooring is styled to resemble traditional slate floors commonly found in kitchens and sculleries before the advent of commercially produced floor coverings. In the manufacture of vinyl floor coverings a vinyl layer is bonded to a backing and then a decorative printed pattern layer is applied which is, in turn, protected by a top clear, wear layer of PVC or polyurethane to increase durability, protect the appeareance and create a slip resistant surface.
