Description

A dual purpose games piece having one side moulded as a draughts piece and the other moulded with a representation of a castle, for use as a rook in the game of chess. This piece and the companion piece AIBDC : 006889.1, was made by Richard Chambers in the 1970s at Telcon Plastics Ltd., from moulds which were made some time in the middle of the 19th century. Telcon Plastics Ltd. succeeded the Gutta Percha company and was at that time the only company in Europe still processing Gutta Percha.
