Description

An audible ball made from vulcanised rubber which contains a metal bell so that it can be located when in play. Goalball is a game played by two teams of three players with poor or no sight on an indoor court. The court measures 18m x 9m and has tactile markings to enable players to determine their position and direction by feeling for the markings with their hands or feet. The game of goalball was first introduced at the 1976 Paralympics in Toronto, Canada and has been played at every Paralympic games since.
