Guido Venturini

Born: 1957

Education: Studied architecture at Florence University.

Career: Teaching and research at Florence Faculty of Architecture since 1979 and Domus Academy in Milan. Set up King Kong studio together with Stefano Giovannoni in 1985.

Notable Designs: Designs are wide ranging and include a number of anthropomorphic domestic equipment and accessories for Alessi.

Significance: Venturini is renowned as an avante-garde architect and for his space management and internal architecture projects such as the Maddalena Loveburger project in Prato, Italy. The King Kong studio is known for borrowing design themes from science fiction and comic books and is responsible for the now iconic Alessi cut out figure, Girotondo, which features in many of King Kong's designs.
