Snuff box impressed with domestic scene

A black buffalo horn oblong box impressed with a domestic scene. On the right a man, dressed in 17th/18th century costume and wig, is seated in a chair, his left hand holds an open book. Quills and books are laid out on a table behind him. He is addressing a woman seated on the left side with a cat on her lap. A sword and hat hang in the background. A basket is in the foreground. European, early to mid 19th century. This natural plastic item forms part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
