Description

A card of 20th century horn buttons, toggles and buckles by Grove comprising 28 sew through buttons, 8 shank buttons, 5 toggles and two buckles. The buttons have a range of finishes and colours, some being highly polished and others making a feature of the natural appearance of the material. James Grove and Sons have been manufacturing buttons in the UK for over 150 years. Their genuine horn buttons are made from the Common Stag, Water Buffalo and Ox. The Stag horns used are exclusively the shed antlers of the animal. No animals are bred or slaughtered for their horns, the horn is a byproduct of abbatoirs. Horns and tusks from endangered species are never used by James Grove and Sons. These natural plastic items form part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
