Combmaker's grail

Description

A combmaker's hand file or grail for pointing the teeth of combs. The triangular profile file is set into a wooden handle which is marked 'J. Holme'. This type of file was in use until the early 1800s before combs were machine cut. This item forms part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
