Description
A group of three skeins of 1950s synthetic silk fibres, one white and two pink, probably the first cellulose triacetate made in the UK. Triacetate was first produced commercially in the USA in 1954 by the Celanese Corporation. This item forms part of the Plastics Historical Society (PHS) collection.
