Promotional cigarette box, 2 of 2

Description

A 1930s square cigarette box, without a lid, designed as a promotional item for C.A.V.Jigs Moulds & Tools Co Ltd, from whose moulds it was manufactured. The moulds were in use on a stand at the Wembley Exhibition, 1924. This example was made as part of a teaching programme at Borough Polytechnic in about 1938. There is another example of the same moulding complete with its lid also on loan, PHSL 266.1. This item forms part of the Plastics Historical Society (PHS) collection.
