Description

Pocket paging receiver. Photo caption: Pocket paging receivers, measuring only 1 9/32 inches wide x 5 1/8 inches high x 23/32 inches deep, will be installed at the London Stock Exchange to call Dealers immediately they are required by their offices. Bakelite Xylonite Limited, Plastics Materials Group supplied copper-clad Bakelite laminate, with an epoxide glass base only 0.008 in. thick, which is used for the mini-circuit of this pocket receiver. BXL material was chosen for its combination of extremely thin section and 'rigidity'; meeting the exacting specifications necessary for efficient and reliable performance and conforming to the neat and compact design. The pocket paging receiver, marketed by Modern Telephones (Great Britain) Limited, London, NW1, was developed and manufactured by Shipton Electronics Limited. Picture shows a cutaway section of the unit and Logic / Bleep Board mini-circuit. This item is part of the MoDiP BXL collection.
