Dressing table trinket box

This object is showing signs of deterioration, but it will remain as part of the museum collection for a study to be made of its condition over time. Due to its unstable nature we regret that it is not available for loan but may be viewed in the museum on request. A 1930s clear acrylic dressing table trinket box with elongated oval-shaped sides and a square lid. It has been made from thermoformed acrylic sheet which has been glued together. The box shows small stress fractures, caused by the breakdown of the plastic material over time.
