The material from which this object is made is showing signs of deterioration, but it will remain as part of the museum collection for a study to be made of its condition over time. Due to its unstable nature we regret that it is not available for loan but may be viewed in the museum on request. Brightly coloured jelly sandals with an Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty model snow storms inside the hollow heels. Designed by Patrick Cox and manufactured by the Brazilian company Grendene, who use the properties of PVC plastic to produce highly decorative and fun shoes. The heel is moulded and water treated with an anti-bacterial agent is injected in with a syringe.
