Description
A clear yoghurt pot with a clear lid. The Collective yoghurt pot had previoulsy had an iconic black lid which proved to be difficult to recycle because ot the carbon black and other pigments that absorb the infrared signal used to sort plastics making it 'invisible' to the sensors used by recycling operations. The company had experimented with using specialist pigments (see AIBDC : 008198), however, they found that their packagin was still not being recycled as consumers were used to the idea that black plastic was not recyclable. In May 2021 the company rested their balck lids for clear alternatives, with black inner film to maintain the branding colours, to ensure they will more likely be recycled. In the January of the same year 100% recycled tubs were also introduced by the company as part of a drive to reduce their environemental impact. The lid is made by DECA, and the pot is made by Greiner Packaging.
