Barrel organ cigarette dispenser

Description

A cigarette dispenser in the form of a barrel organ with a figure of a dressed monkey on the top. Cigarettes are loaded at one end and when the handle is turned a cigerette is despensed in a sprung loaded drawer at the top. The barrel organ is decorated with floral mouldings and a cherrub which is highlighted with a darker rubbed colouron the front, and stands on two large cartwheels and props at one end. There is an area on the back which holds a small piece of sandpaper to strike matches on. Thought to have been made circa 1940s or 1950s from sheet cellulose nitrate.
