Description
A group of five circular tokens, injection moulded in cellulose acetate in white (2d), yellow (3d), brown (4d), red (5d) and green (6d) colours. The token value is moulded into the top face and 'Aberdeen Corporation Transport' into the reverse, written around a coat of arms. Used widely on public transport across the country, the plastics tokens were issued by local councils as concessionary fare tokens for certain groups of people under their jurisdiction, eg. schoolchildren. These examples likely date circa 1930s-1960s.
