Dundee travel tokens

Description

A group of four circular tokens, injection moulded in polystyrene (PS), in white (1d), brown (2d), green (3d) and pink (6d) colours. The token value is moulded into the top face with 'Dundee Corporation Transport' written around it, a coat of arms on the reverse. Used widely on public transport across the country, the plastics tokens were issued by local councils as concessionary fare tokens for certain groups of people under their jurisdiction, eg. schoolchildren. These examples likely date circa 1950s-1960s.
