Berkshire concessionary fare token

Description

A group of six heptagonal tokens, injection moulded in a bright orange coloured, polystyrene (PS). 'Berkshire 25p' is moulded into the top face and 'Concessionary fare token. 25p' into the reverse. Used widely on public transport across the country, plastics tokens were issued by local councils as concessionary fare tokens for certain groups of people under their jurisdiction, eg. schoolchildren. These examples likely date circa 1980s-1998 when the council was superseded by six separate unitary authorities.
