Description
A Canon Typestar 6 electronic personal typewriter in moulded storage case, complete with instruction booklet and original sales invoice. The Typestar 6 used 32 x 26 dot thermal-transfer printing. It had a storage capacity of approximately two thousand characters with the ability for stored texts to be recalled, corrected and reprinted. Typefaces were changed by different cartridges. Ribbons were in the form or cassettes. Spare cartridges were storred in a compartment in the handle. This example is complete with three spare ribbon cartridges, an instruction booklet and the original sales invoice, showing that it retailed for £220.50 in 1985. The outer casing of the typewriter is thought to be made from injection moulded acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (?) with an applied metalised finished to the outer surfaces. The protective stroage case is made from injection moulded polypropylene with a diagonal ribbed design to the outer surface of the lid. Measurements given are for the typewriter only.
