Multicoloured Beetleware beaker

Description

A small, multicoloured beaker, with tapered sides and a round base. Made by Streetly Manufacturing Company for Woolworths, it is compression moulded in urea formaldehyde using Beetle moulding powder, first released in 1925 by British Cyanides Co. (who acquired Streetly in 1929 and went on to become British Industrial Plastics in 1936). The beaker was given by the company to the donor's grandmother, who worked as a cleaner with BIP from 1915.
