Buckle front with filigree metalwork

A translucent rectangular decorative buckle front onto which a filigree white metalwork panel is attached. The design is of scrolling acanthus leaves and concentric borders, highlighted by gold colouring in places. The slightly convex, translucent, emerald green base onto which the metalwork is mounted, provides a contrasting colour to highlight the detail. It is cut from a thin sheet of material, the corners rounded and edges polished. On the reverse side are four small brass loops which were probably used to attach it to a buckle.
