Desk tidy with calendar and pen holder

A desk tidy with a calendar and pen holder. Made from compression moulded phenol formaldehyde, circa late 1950s, this desk tidy has a rectangular central well and a pen holder set on the back right hand corner in a gold coloured metal rotating ball fitting. The chromed metal calendar is located at the back and has date numbers which are changed by pressing a lever on each side of the unit. A channel along the bottom of the calendar probably held day and/or month cards, which are no longer present.
