Alexander Parkes award

Description

An award to commemorate the induction of Alexander Parkes into the Plastics Hall of Fame in 2005.The Plastics Hall of Fame was founded in 1972 by Sid Gross, the Editor-in-Chief of Modern Plastics Magazine and Society of the Plastics Industry, USA. Ceremonies for living and posthumous inductees are held every three years and election to the Plastics Hall of Fame is a considered to be a significant acknowledgement of a life spent in the plastics industry. This award comprises three convex, flat topped triangular structures rising from a black plinth. Appropriately, the award is made from clear, colourless acrylic on a black acrylic plinth with white engraved lettering.
