Bowstring

A reel of BCY 452X bowstring material made from 67% Dyneema (R) and 33% Vectran. Dyneema (R) is an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibre developed by DSM in the Netherlands. It is known as the world's strongest, lightest fibre, being 15 times stronger than steel. It is light in weight, is hydrophobic, floats, and is chemical and UV resistant. Vectran is a polyester fiber spun from liquid-crystal polymer (LCP). The use of Vectran is advantageous as it has no creep (non-recoverable elongatioin), which can cause a bow to go out of tune and can affect the draw weight and draw length of a bow. Measurements given are for the complete reel.
