Description
A box of 20 NONA ocean plastics clothes pegs in Lagoon blue. The clothespin is made from discarded fishing ropes and supports fishing communities and marine ecosystems. The ocean plastics used in the pegs is sourced as a result of an interception programme, in place across various ports, that reimburses the fisherman for worn-out fishing gear and therefore preventing it from entering the ocean as broken equipment. NONA stands for no oceans no air, and represents the risk of the collapse of the oxygen producing phytoplankton due to plastics pollutants in the oceans. The NONA clothes peg is designed to be ultra-durable by being created to withstand exposure to extreme weather and prolonged sunlight. Not having any moving parts, it is more dependable and long-lasting than conventional pegs. The innovative wave grip design can be tailored to each item of laundry, the further down you push the peg over the textile, the stronger the grip. The surface of the peg is smooth so as to prevent snags, runs and catches and eliminate rust or mould stains associated with wooden pegs. Nona uses the discarded polypropylene ropes to create their pegs, rather than HDPE fishing nets.
