Description
The Pebble travel cutlery set consists of a knife, fork, spoon, straw and chopsticks that fold away into a carry case that fits into the palm of the hand. The cutlery handles are recycled polypropylene from food packaging, whilst the heads are made from titanium-anodized, recycled stainless steel. The straw and clip are also made from the recycled steel, the lanyard is made from recycled polyethylene and the case is made from recycled polycarbonate from post-consumer music CD cases. The set weighs the same as a smartphone (175 grams), is brightly coloured in purple, yellow and orange and includes a small cleaning brush. Produced by design studio Pentatonic (who specialise in designing for the circular economy) in collaboration with the creative collective I Am Other, (assembled by singer Pharrell Williams), the set has been designed to counter single-use, disposable plastics cutlery. The company claim the set can be placed into the recycling bin at end of use or offer the return to them in order to repurpose the materials.
