Horseshoe shaped calendar

Description

A small, horseshoe shaped perpetual calendar made from a translucent, tortoiseshell effect cellulose nitrate. The inverted horseshoe is supported on a tripod stand which is attached to the back of the calendar by a small metal hinge. The day, month and date is indicated by small cream coloured rectangles, printed on both sides and which are turned over and round to display the correct date. They are held in a small, thermoformed cradle on the front of the horseshoe. Circa 1920s.
