Description

A small, deep bowl made from bagasse by Vegware in 2020. Bagasse is made from sugarcane fibre, a by-procuct of the sugar industry. The residual fibres are blended with water to create a pulp and then, somethimes with the addition of bio degradable bleaches, it can be used to create items such as disposable takeaway food containers. The pulp is poured into a form which is then pressed into shape by the aid of heat and pressure. Bagasse is fully compostable and will break down in commercial composting facilities in approximately 45 to 60 days. Bagasse is suitable for hot and cold food, is resistant to oil and is a good heat insulator.
