Dr West's Exton versus nylon toothbrush bristle advertisement

Description

A full-page magazine advertisement for Dr West's Miracle-Tuft toothbrush and Dr West's '25' toothbrush which were retailed at 50c and 25c respectively. See AIBDC : 008547. Weco introduced its cheaper brand the '25' in the mid-1940s and promoted it as distinct from the Miracle-Tuft so as not to compete with sales. Made from nylon bristles as opposed to 'Exton' which is actually nylon the '25' was really only different in size and weight. It was manufactured whilst Weco still had exclusive rights to using the DuPont patented nylon to develop the company's market share in lower priced affordable toothbrushes.
