Description

A compression moulded phenol formaldehyde casing for what is thought to be a part of a Hoover vacuum cleaner, circa 1940s. It is streamlined in style and has a wheel either side with moulded text of HOOVER 81765. The part illustrates the ability of the material to be moulded with very complex internal shapes and a streamlined, style conscious exterior. The mould for this component was designed and manufactured by Arnott & Harrison Ltd.
