French Art Nouveau comb

Description

A high backcomb from the Art Nouveau period made from cellulose nitrate in imitation tortoiseshell, circa 1920s. The elongated header of the comb is decorated with hand painted petalled flowers, in two shades of gold and gold banding. The comb is marked 'A. Chavalier. Paris'
