Poly-Pika basket

Description

A large polyethylene basket designed to be used for the collection of vegetables and other crops. Large perforations allow for dry soil to drop through or for root vegetables to be rinsed in the basket. This example is coloured bright yellow, presumably so that it can be easily seen in a garden or agricultral setting and has two red handles for carrying. The handles are attached to the outside of the basket by polyethylene rivets. There are the remains of an ICI label in the base. The registered design numbers on the base indicate that it was designed 1957. Height listed is without the handles.
