Description

The Ray sand shovel is part of the Animo sand play set designed by design collective Outofstock for the founders of EKOBO, husband and wife team Bruno and Boo Louis. The shape of this shovel is inspired by a Manta ray. The set is made from Biobu (R), a composite material made from bamboo sawdust waste from chopstick factories and a food safe melamine binder. The couple developed the material, in partnership with a factory in China, in response to their own experiences when searching for trusted establish brands for their own children. The three part set comprises 'Moby' scooper, 'Ray' shovel and 'Shelley' sifter.
