Spanish national costume doll

Description

A doll made from injection moulded polystyrene with sleeping eyes, moveable head and arms but fixed legs. Intended for display rather than play, this doll is dressed in Spanish national costume, with a lace trimmed red dress and a hair style trimmed with a mantilla back comb. The features and shoes are painted. Each of the dolls hands appear to be holding castanets. This example is thought to date from the 1960s and was Empire Made.
