A Blue Peter badge made from recycled yoghurt pots. First launched in 1963, the Blue Peter badge is awarded to children in recognition of their achievement. The first badge to be made from recycled materials was launched in 2017 and was designed collaboratively by the BBC and Matrix. It was the 'Green' badge which rewards viewers for contributions about the environment, conservation and nature. The badge is made in Cornwall, UK, in a factory powered by solar energy, supporting the programme makers aim to improve its environmental impact. The badge fastens to clothing with a push through pin and push on pin back.
