The mouldings of a PitPat 2 dog activity monitor for connection via Bluetooth technology to an app which enables a tailored exercise regime for the individual dog based on its age, weight and breed and tracks daily activity against targeted goals. When assembled, it is lightweight, waterproof and can be attached to any collar. The surface of the monitor is textured with a pattern created from the repetition of a bone shape and it has a logo in which a depicition of the pads of a dog's paw stand proud and are picked out in orange. The moulding made from a blend of polycarbonate and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. The mouldings are stuck together with a polymethyl methacrylate adhesive. The join is hidden by a styling groove. The battery compartment is accessed through a coin operated seal. The manufacturer of the casing, Mastas, is in China and manufacturer of the electronics and assembly, Nitronica, is in the UK. The use of a UK firm for the electronics and assembly contributed to containing the costs.
