Description

A reel-to-reel tape with a recording of The Pirates of Penzance. A reel-to-reel tape comprises a magnetic tape wound onto an open reel rather than an enclosed cassette like an 8-track or compact cassette. Pre-recorded reels like this one were first introduced in the USA in 1949, and EMI started selling them in the UK in 1952. Diameter measurement refers to the reel, other dimensions refer to the box.
