Description

A cream coloured lidded powder bowl in the style of Eduard Fornell, a fromer engraver for Rene Lalique, who started a small plastics factory in Paris in 1919. Fornell was well known for the production of elaborately moulded and decorated powder bowls and boxes and this unmarked example is reminiscent of his work. The lid depicts a classical female head in profile and a leaping deer. Compression moulded in urea formaldehyde and thought to be made in the UK circa 1930s.
