Description
The materials used to make this violin bow have been selected to replace unsustainable traditional materials. It is made by Maestro Archetier with an ethical, vegan approach, comparing favourably with a high quality, traditionally constructed bow. The stick is made from carbon fibre composite, replacing the now rare and protected Pernambuco wood. The mother of pearl slide has been replaced by ebony, ivory or bone tips have been replaced by ABS, a polyurethane thumb pad replaces one that would traditionally have been made from reptile skin, animal glues have been replaced by a low melting-point resin glue and finally, the horse hair has been replaced by Coruss synthetic hair.
