Description
Created and endorsed by the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse this synthetic bow hair was developed in France by musicians seeking an alternative to horsehair. The exact material from which it is made is a closely guarded secret, but its desirable properties are that it reduces problems of breakage, is more resistant to wear, and being hydorphobic means that it is not affected as much as natural materials by temperature and humidity. It also stores well. In blind tests many musicians were unable to distinguish Coruss hair from horsehair and others preferred the sound. Coruss is available in a range of colours.
