Description
A square colander that can be stored flat and folded at 12 pre-formed seams into shape for use. The board has been injection moulded in polypropylene in one operation profiting from that material's ability to create living hinges. The folding colander was first made in 2010, this example dates from 2013. It received the Red Dot Design Award, from Design Center North Rhine Westphalia for exceptional product and communication design. The design company DesignWright was founded by the brothers Adrian and Jeremy Wright. Dimensions below refer to the colander when flat, it is 1400 high, 270mm wide and 220mm deep when folded.
