Perpetual calendar and desk tidy

Description

A compression moulded, phenol formaldehyde desk tidy with a metal perpetual calendar set at the back, this was probably a promotional piece produced by Merriott Mouldings Ltd. circa 1957. The date is changed by depressing levers on either side of the calendar, to rotate printed discs on which numbers are printed. The months are indicated on strips, printed on both sides of strips of cellulose acetate (?) and changed manually.
